Simon Scallan
Senior Adviser

Simon Scallan is a Senior Financial Adviser with over 30 years’ experience in financial services, including more than 20 years as a licensed Financial Planner in Australia. He provides strategic, client-focused advice across wealth creation, retirement planning, SMSFs and risk management.

Financial planning has been a part of Simon’s life from an early age. Growing up in a family business focused on financial planning, he developed a strong understanding that financial security is not just about numbers, it’s about people, their goals, and the peace of mind that comes from having a clear and well-structured plan.

Simon established and led his own financial planning practice for more than 16 years, acting as Managing Director and Principal Adviser. During this time, he advised individuals, families and business owners, managed complex portfolios, and maintained strong compliance and governance standards before successfully exiting the business.

In addition to personal financial planning, Simon has extensive experience working with small to medium business owners, including business structuring, acquisitions, mergers and exit strategies. This experience gives him a practical understanding of the financial challenges faced at different stages of business and life.

Simon’s advice philosophy is grounded in clarity, discipline and long-term thinking. He believes that good financial outcomes are achieved through thoughtful planning, consistent decision-making and a strong adviser–client relationship built on trust, integrity and active listening.

Simon specialises in retirement planning, SMSFs, investment portfolio construction, tax-effective wealth strategies, personal and business insurance, and estate planning. He works closely with the broader Stonehouse team and clients’ professional advisers to ensure coordinated and well-considered outcomes.

Outside of work, Simon is a proud parent of four and leads an active lifestyle. He enjoys sport, travel and spending time in the hinterland, and values balance, integrity and purpose, principles that guide both his personal life and his approach to financial advice.
